Our Story

ED_logo_JPG_Text-03.jpg

Elizabeth’s Dandelions began with an undying passion for creation, a love of lace and making use of all of the pretty things that already exist in this world.

Most wedding gowns sit in attics, boxes, garages, waiting for a daughter or grandaughter to want to walk down the aisle wearing this cherished heirloom. Sadly, it isn't too often gowns are re-worn and end up never being used again. We set out on a mission to give these old memories new memories.

Elizabeth's Dandelions is named after my late grandmother, inspired by her free spirited beautiful soul. I hope to capture the essence of her kindness and passion through each and every Dandelion. Our goal is to spread happiness and beauty, bring families closer together, and do our part in the sustainable fashion movement. Each custom Heirloom Upcycled Dandelion is created only with the components of the garment provided from our customers, resulting in no wastage. Each ready to purchase dandelion is made sustainably and ethically from our Connecticut studio.

Come with us on this journey and cherish a a sustainably made bridal piece, a one of a kind heirloom, and endless memories to be passed down for generations...

Upcycled Heirloom Dandelions

Our journey begins with a consultation to discuss the details of your gown and what you would like your gown to be upcycled into. The possibilities are endless! Sketches are sent to the client for approval and the design process will begin at that point.

Each gown is first disassembled by hand , delicately removing each stitch and detail. Patterns are designed in house and then used to carefully cut each piece of fabric, ensuring the most efficient use of your gown. Each Dandelion takes 6-8 weeks to complete it's transformation from wedding gown to heirloom. Every garment is handmade in Connecticut and shipped to you in a 100% cotton muslin garment bag, which will safely protect the garments forever.

The delicate detail and craftmanship is taken into account for every unique Dandelion, which determines the pricepoint for each project. Please contact us through our 'Contact' tab above, we would love to start the Dandelion journey with you!
